Cyber Essentials

Cyber Essentials has been designed to help businesses of all sizes ensure they have the necessary core controls in place to protect themselves against cyber attacks. There are two levels to the certification: Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus. Cyber Essentials is a questionnaire-based certification, following five core technical control themes.

Cyber Essentials Plus

Cyber Essentials Plus is the audited version of Cyber Essentials, following the same five core technical controls of Cyber Essentials. This audit is conducted by one of our qualified Cyber Essentials auditors, who will ensure the Cyber Essentials questionnaire has been answered correctly through multiple tests.

IASME Cyber Assurance

This certification has recently been rebranded from ‘IASME Governance’, giving it a new name, logo and focus. The IASME Cyber Assurance certification was originally created to give smaller companies a more affordable and accessible form of ISO 27001, offering them an ideal way of protecting their information assets and proving their technical and procedural practices to suppliers and customers alike. Like Cyber Essentials, the certification is split into self-assessment and audited versions.

IS027001

This is an international standard that focuses on the risks associated with information security. You’ll effectively need to create an information security management system to obtain the standard. Using our experience and knowledge of the industry, we’ll help you prepare for the ISO 27001 assessments. Our diligent and skilled security team will perform a gap analysis, identifying areas of improvement and strategically roadmapping the necessary remediations.

FAQs

There are many factors that need to be taken into account when answering this question. Some instances are: your industry, what security controls you already have in place, your budget for this project and your overall security goals. Our team are security experts with years of industry experience and have helped many organisations improve their security by using the certification process effectively. You will have a dedicated security account manager on hand to answer any questions you may have about your services or certifications. On an ongoing basis, your account manager will check in and remind you of any important dates coming up. Our certification services and packages are designed with recertification in mind, to simplify the process year after year.

If an organisation has completed the Level 1 questionnaire with accuracy, they should have no problem with passing level 2.

Level 1 of Cyber Essentials requires an organisation to complete and submit a self-assessment form. This form is then marked by a certification body, e.g. Data Connect, who will give you a pass or fail result. Within the Level 2 audit, our team are there to verify your self-assessment answers are correct.

The IASME Cyber Assurance levels follows the same precedent as Cyber Essentials, however the audit is instead an onsite visit.
